Collaboration Across the Continuum: Building Effective Behavioral Health Partnerships and Allyships to Enhance Substance Use Prevention Successes
October 23 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Enhancing Prevention Efforts:
Prevention Application Community of Practice
Overview:
Prevention Application Community of Practice spaces will support the continuing education of prevention professionals in a manner that is engaging, focused on skill building, dynamic, and in line with statewide goals. Together we will “unpack” what has been learned in professional competency training events, thus supporting the application of skills and development of sector partnerships and networking. Prevention Application spaces are intended to be a collective learning space with reflection opportunities for participants.
October Topic
Effective and successful substance use prevention strategies do not happen in isolation. Together we will identify opportunities for deeper collaboration with behavioral health partners across the continuum of care—from primary prevention to treatment and recovery. Using California’s prevention priorities and CSAP strategies as a guide, participants will explore how to develop strategic partnerships that enhance upstream efforts and build continuity for individuals and families. We will unpack models of shared risk and protective factor alignment, cross-sector MOUs, and trauma-informed collaboration. Participants will leave with a roadmap to strengthen their partnerships in a way that honors local context and community voice.
